The 7th tradition states:
“Every A.A. group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.”
As a member of AA you are never required to donate money in any amount in order to attend meetings or have a sponsor and work the 12 steps. However, you may opt to donate to the Nightly Newcomers group to give back to what has so freely been given to you.

Any money that is donated to our group that exceeds the needs of the group past our prudent reserve is given to the AA organization at large.
